Frequently asked questions.

🩺 About Our Services

What is Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS)?
ABUS is an advanced breast screening tool that uses sound waves (not radiation) to create detailed 3D images of breast tissue. It’s especially useful for women with dense breasts, where mammograms alone may miss cancers.

How is ABUS different from a mammogram?
Mammograms use low-dose X-rays, while ABUS uses ultrasound. ABUS doesn’t replace mammograms — it works alongside them, improving cancer detection in dense breast tissue.

Who should consider ABUS screening?
ABUS is recommended for women with dense breast tissue, those with a family history of breast cancer, or anyone who wants an extra layer of reassurance beyond mammography.

How long does the exam take?
Most ABUS exams take about 15–20 minutes. There’s no discomfort, no compression, and no radiation.

Is ABUS safe?
Yes. ABUS uses sound waves, making it a safe, non-invasive, and painless screening option.

💵 Pricing & Payment

How much does an ABUS exam cost?
Our self-pay price cash price is $390 (flat-rate, transparent). No surprise bills, ever.

Why does GIMI follow a self-pay model?
Insurance rules often delay or deny access to ABUS. By offering direct self-pay, we give you faster access, clear pricing, and the freedom to choose advanced breast imaging without barriers.

Do you accept insurance?
We are currently out-of-network. However, we provide every patient with a reimbursement packet, including a superbill and filing instructions, to submit to their insurance if they choose.

Can I file for reimbursement with my insurance company?
